This Women's History Month: Meet our new NWPC CA Board 👯

Updates from our New Board President

Hello and thank you for your membership with NWPC CA! I want to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Sabrina Ashjian, your new president of NWPC CA. I am thrilled to serve in this role and look forward to connecting with each of you. Our state board has been hard at work creating an exceptional year ahead. We have been planning activities, preparing for upcoming elections, and strategizing for how to most effectively get more women elected. 

We recently held our strategic planning retreat, where we welcomed Assemblymember Laura Friedman to join us. The Assemblymember swore in our new board officers and shared her thoughts on the importance of women serving in elected office. It was an inspiring and energizing day. I've attached some photos of the event to this email.
 
We invite you to join us this April to advocate in our state capitol for our priority issues. We look forward to advocating alongside you, networking with you, and sharing time together. We hope you’ll join us! We also want you to mark your calendars for the National Convention, which will take place in Richmond, VA on August 11-13th, 2023. We’re going to gather a California contingency and spend a few days also in Washington, DC.
 
As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I want to express my sincere gratitude and thanks for all that you are each doing in your communities and across our state to achieve equity. It is because of your membership, donations, volunteerism, and involvement that we are making critical progress on parity in elected offices throughout our state. We could not do this work without you!
 
Thank you again for your time, energy, and commitment. Please reach out to me with questions, suggestions, or if you are looking to get more involved at the local or state level. There are committees to join in your local caucus or at the state level, including: public policy, membership, fundraising, communications, and education & training.
